.Jummah Mubarak.

This is my collection of the Friday sermons (khutbahs). (DISCLAIMER: I don't take notes during the actual lecture, so this is just a summary of what I remember, plus a mix of my personal sentiment, and probably a dash of other lectures I've heard in the past.) If I err (misquote, misunderstand, etc.) it's all from me and anything good is from God. So with anything, take the good, leave the bad, and enjoy!

Fear & Modesty

Fear Him like that sort of fear when your Ma says "Shhh. Don't be loud. You'll wake your father."

Haha, not because Dad's gonna get angry at you if you do wake him. More like fear out of compassion and love. Because it matters to you that you how he feels about you. You want to gain His pleasure. You want Him to be happy.

If people praise you say astaghfirallah. I know we love the fame and the glory. But say, I am only this way because God allows it. Let it be an opportunity to appreciate God. To help you improve your ways and simply be a reminder to the souls around you. And be thankful that they've been a reminder to you.

Alhamdulillah, Substance&Form, N2S

Imam Y. at Masjid I.

Alhamdulillah! that we are people of alhamdulillah.

While we say alhamdulillah when we get the parking space right in front of the grocery store or we say alhamdulillah when somethings are going our way, we get angry when we don't get the parking space under the shade or when we get stuff in traffic. We forget or we don't say alhamdulillah.
But Mu'mineen say alhamdulillah in all situations--because God put us in all these situations for a reason. So ask for aid and remember that God is with those who remember Him.

Remember, while form is relevant, substance is vital. Compassion comes from our faith.

Be thankful. Be compassionate. Praise God.

AL-HAMD-DU-LI-LAH!

Note 2 Self.

Have the following dialogue w/ your daughter.
Parent: Muslim girls are...
Daughter: Strong!
Parent: And Muslim girls are...

Parent: And Muslim girls are...
Daughter: Smart!
alhamdulillah

Time is Mercy.

Forget this Time is money junk. That is an insult to Time.
Time is mercy. Time is a mercy from God to repent for all the nonsense you've committed and an opportunity to improve the quality of your love.
